Baton Rouge weather: A few strong storms possible overnight
STRONG STORMS TONIGHT
A cold front will move through, bringing the possibility of severe weather. The main threats will be from damaging winds and a low-end risk for brief, spin-up tornadoes. Rainfall amounts will not be significant, but in heavier downpours, totals around an inch or so will be possible. Expect the storms to clear by daybreak on Sunday.
SUNDAY: Rain and thunderstorms will clear early Sunday morning. Afterwards, drier and cooler air will move in, making for a really nice end to the weekend. Expect plenty of afternoon sunshine and highs around 80. Temperatures will fall into the upper 40s and low 50s Sunday night – Monday morning!
SEVEN DAY FORECAST:
TRACKING THE TROPICS:
There are no active tropical systems in the Atlantic basin. We will be watching the Caribbean over the next 7-14 days, as there are signs of tropical development in the long range. But, there is nothing there currently, and it is just something to monitor later on down the road.
