Brad Meyer to Lead ‘Ghosting Us’ Rally in Salem on Sunday, Targeting Houchin’s Record

Written from press release

SALEM, Ind. — Democratic congressional candidate Brad Meyer will host a rally in Salem on Sunday, October 19, framed as a community “Ghost Hunt” to highlight what he calls U.S. Rep. Erin Houchin’s absence and lack of representation for southern Indiana families.

The event, titled “Ghosting Us,” will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Washington County Fairgrounds, 118 N. Fair St. in Salem, with the main rally program scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m.

Meyer, who is running to unseat Houchin in Indiana’s 9th Congressional District, said the rally is intended to blend politics with community spirit. The gathering will feature speeches, live music, food trucks, and a costume contest, creating what organizers describe as a “family-friendly afternoon of energy and engagement.”

“Our Congresswoman has been ghosting the people of southern Indiana,” Meyer said in a statement. “She’s absent from the district, out of touch with everyday families, and too often voting for the special interests instead of the people’s interests. It’s time to send her a message.”

Meyer, a seventh-generation Hoosier, Purdue graduate, and Navy civilian engineer, said his campaign is focused on bringing “consistent, results-driven leadership” to Washington.

“Strong campaigns, like strong communities, are built on consistency, energy, and openness,” Meyer added. “This event is about showing that we’re ready for a change—and that our movement is growing.”

Supporters are encouraged to bring homemade signs and participate in what organizers describe as a spirited, accessible way to discuss the future of the district.
