2nd suspect accused of Gresham teen’s murder arrested

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A second arrest was made of a suspect believed to be involved in a teenager’s death after a bullet tore through the walls of his Gresham apartment while he was asleep earlier this year.

On Friday, the U.S. Marshals announced that they arrested Xavier Romello Hirsch in Beaverton with the assistance of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Beaverton Police Department.

He is the second of three suspects believed to be involved in the murder of 13-year-old Liam Spahnle-Bailey.

Anthony Hunter Jr., also suspected of being involved in the murder, was taken into custody last month. Terrell Coy remains at large as the third suspect sought in the case, and the U.S. Marshals Service is offering a reward of $5,000 for information that leads to his arrest.

The shooting happened back on April 27 inside the Eleven Pines Apartments on SW 11th Street near Highland Road. Spahnle-Bailey was sleeping when a bullet fired from his neighbor’s apartment went through the walls and hit him.

Officers provided emergency treatment to Spahnle-Bailey and rushed him to an area hospital, but he did not survive.

Another wounded man was found not far from the scene and was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
