West Chester Chili Cookoff fuels food relief efforts

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (WPHL) — Fiorenza’s Food For Friends is hoping to address growing food insecurity in the Pennsylvania region by hosting the annual West Chester Chili Cookoff on Sunday, October 19.

The Chili Cookoff is a beloved West Chester tradition, with more than 50 teams participating, including local restaurants, nonprofits, and home chefs, competing for the People’s Choice Award.

The event will take place along West Gay Street from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 19. The event was originally planned for October 12, but was rained out from the recent nor’easter.

While the day promises fun and family-friendly activities, it also supports a meaningful mission. The cookoff benefits Fiorenza’s Food For Friends (F4), Chester County’s largest food recovery and hunger-relief operation. The organization’s mission is to create a world without hunger by connecting excess food to those who need it most.
