These are 2025's remaining road construction projects along the Wasatch Front — and how to avoid them
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — As the final stretch of 2025 road construction approaches, here’s where the remaining projects are and how to avoid them.

The Utah Department of Transportation says many projects are paused during the winter months, leaving many to be completed within the next month. However, many continue to affect traffic.

Weber County

  • Ogden Canyon Road: Construction crews are currently installing a pipeline that will run up Ogden Canyon. Consequently, construction will take place near the road. Installation began Tuesday and will include light-duty trucks crossing the West Hermitage bridge occasionally, UDOT says.

  • I-15 southbound near Riverdale Road: Crews will close the right lane of I-15 southbound between Riverdale Road and the 5600 South off ramp to conduct pipe work from Friday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. through Saturday, Oct. 18 at 5 a.m. Two lanes will close later that day at 7 p.m. through Sunday, Oct. 19, at 5 a.m.
  • Weber Canyon Road: UDOT will be reconstructing bridges over the eastbound and westbound lanes of I-84, two miles east of the mouth of Weber Canyon. Construction is expected to begin in late October.
  • Powder Mountain Runaway Truck Ramp: A new truck escape ramp on S.R. 158, just west of Powder Mountain, is expected to be under construction until Oct. 31, 2025, before being suspended through the winter months.

Davis County

  • 1800 North and I-15: Since Mar. 17, 2025, crews have been adding an interchange at 1800 North and I-15 in Clinton and widening the road to 2000 West. The design includes seven lanes and a bridge over the crossing. Traffic will switch to frontage roads in November 2025 as bridge construction begins.
  • 2000 West to Clinton: UDOT plans to reopen all lanes by Monday, Oct. 20. Work will still continue, but won’t affect drivers.
  • I-15 at Shepard Lane: Construction of a new interchange continues along I-15 at Shepard Lane in Farmington. Drivers should expect continued intermittent lane closures and one-way traffic.

Salt Lake County

  • 4700 South and Bangerter Highway: Eastbound and westbound lanes on 4700 South are now open. However, drivers can expect just two lanes of travel on Bangerter and 4700 South and only one lane for the on and off ramps.
  • 9800 South and Bangerter Highway: On Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, eastbound and westbound traffic on 9800 South will open across the new bridge.

  • 2700 West and Bangerter Highway: Temporary shifts and closures during weekends are still in place on Bangerter Highway onto the new bridge at 2700 West.
  • I-215 and SR 201: Crews remain working on a bridge rehabilitation project that will see overnight lane closures on southbound and northbound lanes on I-215 through the end of October. The ramp from Redwood Road to I-215 northbound remains closed through the end of the month as well. I-215 is also reduced to three lanes through early November.
  • State Street renewal: UDOT has been upgrading the asphalt and ADA pedestrian ramps along State Street between 9400 South and I-215. It is expected to end on Nov. 7, 2025.
