
The Shreveport-Bossier African American Chamber of Commerce is organizing a seven-day event to celebrate the cultural influence of Black-owned restaurants, chefs, and food entrepreneurs in the Shreveport-Bossier region. This year, over 25 restaurants and bars will participate, providing guests with the opportunity to explore diverse menus and exclusive specials. Additionally, this year marks the 5th anniversary of Black Restaurant Week.
Throughout the week, guests can enjoy a lineup of signature dining experiences, including:
- Cooking with the Commissioner (October 20 | 6:00 p.m.) – Join Caddo Commissioner Victor L. Thomas for an interactive cooking class with chefs Monique Armand of Sassi Catering and Chris Hayes of The Smoking Oyster, featuring a three-course meal and culinary tips from two local favorites.
- Black Food Truck Night @ Louisiana Daiquiri Café (October 23 | 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. | 1881 Texas Ave) – Enjoy top food trucks, a live DJ, and giveaways in a lively community setting.
- Signed, Seared & Served (October 24 | 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. | Vine Books & Vinyl, 620 Texas St) – An intimate dinner experience blending great food, creativity, and conversation.
- Foodie Fest @ MS Kick (October 25 | 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. | 1210 Milam St) – A free, family-friendly festival hosted by Chef Mel, featuring food trucks, chef demos, face painting, and more.
- Midnight Brunch (October 25 | 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. | 3840 Linwood Ave) – Hosted by Eric Stephens and Mike Wilson, this late-night dining experience features food from Hoodbachi Taco and Hollywood Quick Stop, offering great eats and good vibes to close out the week.
Black Restaurant Week will launch with an event at Vine Books & Vinyl on Sunday, October 19, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
