SALT LAKE CITY, Utah
(ABC4) — A 19-year-old male is dead after a crash on 2200 West on Tuesday evening.
According to the Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD), an individual has died as a result of his injuries following a crash between an SUV and a construction vehicle that occurred Tuesday evening.
At approximately 8:17 p.m. on October 14, 2025, crews from SLCPD, Salt Lake City Fire, and Gold Cross responded to a call about a crash at 2200 West 1250 North. When they arrived at the scene, they found that an SUV was traveling northbound on 2200 West before colliding with a front-end loader construction vehicle.
The driver of the SUV was transported to the hospital with critical injuries. SLCPD officers have confirmed that the driver, identified as 19-year-old Brian Johnson, succumbed to those injuries and died.
No other injuries were reported.
SLCPD’s Crash Analysis Reconstruction team responded to the scene and investigated it. The scene has since been cleared, though it remains an active construction zone.
Reportedly, the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
