The course weaves through downtown Chicago, taking participants on a 3.1-mile journey through some of the city’s most notable landmarks.
The annual race is put on by Abbot, a global healthcare company dedicated to helping people live healthier, fuller lives.
Runners stepped off at Columbus Drive and Ida B. Wells Drive in Grant Park and will finish up at Adams Street and Wacker Drive.
The race brought 12,000 runners to downtown on Saturday morning, and while some are just looking to soak in the sights, many are also gearing up for the 47th running of the Chicago Marathon on Sunday morning.
“Whether you’re looking for a shakeout run before the Chicago Marathon or want to be part of the excitement of race weekend, we invite you to join us for the Abbott Chicago 5K,” Organizers said.
Visit the 2025 Abbott Chicago 5K website for more information on the event.
