Bolton man killed during Hinds County crash

HINDS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A Bolton man was killed during a two-vehicle crash in Hinds County.

The crash occurred on Interstate 20 Frontage Road near Bolton just before 8:00 a.m. on October 9, 2025.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP), a 2014 Mercedes was traveling east on I-20 Frontage Road when it collided with a 2004 Nissan Titan that was disabled int he eastbound lane of the frontage road.

At the time of the crash, troopers said the driver of the Nissan, 66-year-old Danny Johnson, was standing beside his vehicle when the Mercedes collided with it and subsequently struck him.

MHP officials said Tashayla Kimple, the driver of the Mercedes, was transported to the Baptist Medical Center in Jackson with unknown injuries. Johnson received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced deceased on the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by MHP.
