3 killed, 3 injured in early-morning apartment fire on Far North Side
CHICAGO — A fire at a Far North Side apartment complex left three people dead and three others, including a young boy and a teen girl, hospitalized early Thursday morning.

According to Chicago police, the blaze erupted just before 2 a.m. at a four-story apartment complex in the 7000 block of North Rockwell Street, in West Ridge.

Police say at least three people were injured in the fire, including an adult female who was hospitalized in critical condition due to unspecified injuries. A 17-year-old girl and a juvenile male, whose age is unclear, were also hospitalized with unspecified injuries.

Three others, whose ages are unclear, were killed in the blaze.

Authorities have not yet said what may have sparked the blaze or identified any of the victims.
