Frank Falcone, 62, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, was sentenced to 90 days of county jail, 32 hours of anger management and two years of supervised probation for the January 12 incident, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.
Falcone had been driving on Pacific Boulevard at 3:49 a.m. when he approached another driver in the opposing lane who had his high beam lights on, the San Mateo Police Department said. Authorities said this upset Falcone because of the intense brightness and “potential radiation.”
Traveling at 15 mph, Falcone drove into the victim’s car, according to prosecutors. He then rammed it two more times while the victim’s car was disabled and the airbags deployed. The victim feared for his safety, the DA’s office said, and called 911 while Falcone fled the scene.
The Belmont Police Department became involved in a short pursuit with Falcone until it came to an end on 43rd Avenue. Falcone fled from pursuing Belmont police officers “based on the fact people impersonate cops,” San Mateo PD said.
Falcone will be required to surrender to jail on January 10, 2026, to begin his sentence.
