Ribbon cutting held for Goodwill Opportunity Center in Columbus
Community members and politicians gathered for the opening. The Goodwill Southern Rivers team launched the facility with a mission to support the community by offering clothing, jobs and education.
U.S. Rep. Sanford Bishop said the center could have a major impact in Columbus.
“What this facility does and will do for the people of this area is phenomenal. I’m so happy because it will truly make a difference. I see the support, the enthusiasm, the excitement and I’m glad for it,” Bishop said.
The opportunity center is expected to provide greater access to education, job training and direct pathways to employment.
