By rssfeeds-admin Nearly 20 kids took part in the “Simple Steps Storytime,” which included a reading of Hit the Ball Duck by Fuzzy and Lauren Wertz, who is the children’s associate.
The program also featured singing, dancing, and crafts for children to participate in, up to the age of five.
Wertz said the storytime events are an important way to promote early literacy and community involvement.
“I love doing storytime here, and it’s an opportunity to talk to our community about early literacy and how important it is,” Wertz said.
She added, “It’s so important when we involve our community partners, getting them in the library and getting the kids excited about story time and reading.”
The events are free and open to the public, with program guides available that highlight activities for all ages across the Chattahoochee Valley Libraries system.
Wertz said each library in the system offers storytime on different days.
Residents can check with their local branch to find schedules and upcoming events.
