New Orleans Saints’ Foster Moreau reacts to new details in Kyren Lacy case

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Louisiana First Geaux Black and Gold team caught up with Saints tight end Foster Moreau after New Orleans’ win over the New York Giants on Sunday, Oct. 5.

Moreau was asked about recent updates from Matthew Ory, the attorney representing former LSU star Kyren Lacy, following new claims surrounding the deadly crash Lacy was reportedly involved in.

In an interview with Houma television station HTV, Ory said he obtained a report containing details about Herman Hall’s death, which he believes supports his client’s innocence. According to Ory, the data shows Lacy was over 70 yards behind Hall at the time of impact, despite earlier reports claiming Lacy had passed four cars before the crash.

Lacy had been charged with negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run, and reckless operation of a vehicle. He later turned himself in and posted bail, but was found dead in April from what investigators believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

“It’s pretty eye-opening to see so many people have to eat their words — not just saying so much s*** about him,” Moreau said. “I was really emotional when I saw that. And for most of the family, I mean, I can’t say that I knew him well, I can’t say that I ever spoke a word to him. But for those that did, and for people who truly cared, it is closure.”

The Louisiana Democratic Party is now calling for an independent investigation into what it describes as wrongful accusations against Lacy. The party is also working with the Lacy family to propose “The Lacy Law,” a bill that would penalize officers who knowingly make false reports or misrepresent evidence.
