1 displaced after fire at Spring Lake Park apartment

Resident displaced by apartment fireIt happened overnight in Spring Lake Park.

One person will have to find a new place to live after a fire at an apartment in Spring Lake Park overnight.

Fire crews responded to the complex, located just off University Avenue Northeast and 79th Avenue, early Monday morning.

Firefighters tell 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that a fire likely started in the unit while someone was cooking.

Crews were able to extinguish the blaze but enough damage was done to displace the resident.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

An investigation into the fire is underway.
