Google to lay off dozens of Silicon Valley workers

(KRON) — Google is cutting dozens of Bay Area jobs in the latest round of tech layoffs. According to filings with the Employment Development Department, the tech giant is laying off over 50 people across different locations around Sunnyvale.

A Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification at the EDD website indicates 10 jobs will be cut on Borregas Avenue, one at Crossman Court, 21 at Humboldt Court, eight on Bordeaux Drive, four on Mathilda Avenue, four on Borregas drive and two on Moffett Park Drive. All of the layoffs are permanent, according to the filing.

The Bay Area layoffs follow larger job cuts in Google’s cloud division earlier this week that were first reported in Business Insider. Google’s most recent round of Silicon Valley layoffs is set to take effect on Nov. 9.
