SALEM, Ind. — Brad Meyer, Democratic candidate for U.S. Congress in Indiana’s 9th District, will host a campaign rally Sunday, Oct. 19, at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Salem.
The event, themed the “Ghosting Us” rally, is designed as a community “ghost hunt” to highlight what Meyer calls incumbent Rep. Erin Houchin’s absence from the district and lack of representation for everyday Hoosiers.
Festivities will run from 1 to 5 p.m., with the main rally scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. at 118 N. Fair St. The family-friendly gathering will feature speakers on local issues, live music, food trucks, and a costume contest. Supporters are encouraged to bring homemade signs.
“Our Congresswoman has been ghosting the people of southern Indiana,” Meyer said in a statement. “She’s absent from the district, out of touch with everyday families, and too often voting for the special interests instead of the people’s interests. It’s time to send her a message.”
Meyer, a seventh-generation Hoosier, Purdue graduate, and Navy civilian engineer, is campaigning on a promise of “results-driven leadership and a strong Hoosier voice in Washington.”
