(KRON) — One person is injured after a shooting Tuesday afternoon in Gilroy, according to the Gilroy Police Department (GPD). The shooting happened sometime before 2:20 p.m. on the 500 block of Broadway.
Officers learned that one person was injured. The victim was taken to the hospital where they were listed to be in critical condition. Broadway between Sargent and Carmel was closed for a few hours but has since reopened.
A person in connection to the shooting has been detained, GPD said. There is currently no threat to public safety.
No other information was immediately available. GPD said it will release more details Wednesday morning.
