TRAFFIC ALERT: Delays on I-15 northbound near 14600 south due to semi fire

DRAPER, Utah (ABC4) — Several lanes were temporarily closed on I-15 northbound near 14600 south due to a semi-truck fire.

According to Utah Department of Transportation, a semi-truck caught fire on I-15 northbound south of Bangerter Highway in Salt Lake County. While it appears that the fire is out, five lanes were briefly blocked, and all traffic was using the HOV lane.

Utah Highway Patrol was able to move all traffic over to the furthest right lane and shoulder and reopened the other lanes. It appears they have since reopened all lanes.

Travelers should expect residual delays on I-15 northbound between Lehi and Draper and should consider taking alternative routes or postponing travel, if possible.
