The Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) said the three-vehicle crash happened on Aug. 7 at around 8 a.m. at the intersection of Randolph Road and Sherwood Forest Drive.
It is believed that a silver 2025 Toyota GR86 was heading west on Randolph Road when it hit a red 2011 Toyota 4-Runner that was turning left from eastbound Randolph Road onto Sherwood Forest Drive.
The impact from the crash caused the 4-Runner to roll over and hit a black 2025 Buick Envista.
Josephine Gieske, 85, was the passenger in the 4-Runner. She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. She died on Aug. 22 from the injuries.
The driver of the 4-Runner was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the GR85 was hurt and taken to the hospital as well, but the driver of the Buick was not hurt.
MCPD said there was a delay in reporting Gieske’s death.
The crash is still under investigation.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call (240) 773-6620.
