The calendar says late September, but late summer warmth isn’t going away just yet.
Monday’s unseasonable 89 degrees at O’Hare and 90 degrees at Midway made this the warmest temperature for this late in the season since 1975 when the mercury peaked at 89 degrees on October 14!
It’s a level nearly 20 degrees above normal and more typical of July.
