CMPD investigating shots fired near school bus in southwest Charlotte

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating after shots were fired near a school early Tuesday morning.

According to police, shots were fired between 6 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. in the 2800 block of Baltimore Avenue in southwest Charlotte. The shots were fired near the bus, but not at the bus, officials said.

The bus was not struck by gunfire and no one was injured. CMPD believes the bus was not the intended target.

Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
