Rob Thomas to play Matchbox Twenty and solo hits live in Rockford concert

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Matchbox Twenty frontman Rob Thomas is bringing his solo act to Rockford early next year.

Thomas is scheduled to perform at Hard Rock Live, inside the Hard Rock Casino Rockford, on Sunday, January 25th, 2026.

According to press notes, Thomas will perform “hits from his illustrious solo career, as well as classic songs from Matchbox Twenty.”

As part of Matchbox Twenty, Thomas wrote and performed a string of hits, including “Push,” “3 AM,” “Real World,” “Back 2 Good,” and more.

He is best known for performing “Smooth” on Carlos Santana’s comeback album, Supernatural, which won three Grammy Awards.

The first single from Thomas’ debut album, “Lonely No More,” shot to number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2005.

Tickets for Thomas’ concert in Rockford go on sale Friday, October 3rd, 2025, at 10 a.m.
