Movers for Mutts: Two Men and a Truck support PAWS Humane Society

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — PAWS Humane Society in Winnebago County is receiving support from Two Men and a Truck through a donation drive called ‘Movers for Mutts,’ running through October.

The donation drive aims to collect essential items for PAWS, which has been active since 1988, promoting the humane treatment of animals and providing rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming services. Donations can be dropped off at various partner businesses and will be delivered to PAWS by Two Men and a Truck.

“We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome the animals that have nowhere else to go,” said Sue Golan, executive director. “All of that takes money, takes time, and takes a lot of heart.”

PAWS is a volunteer organization that currently houses about 50 cats at its shelter, while dogs are placed in foster homes. The organization relies on donations to support its operations, including items like bleach, paper towels, hand sanitizer, and specific pet foods.

Two Men and a Truck’s nationwide campaign, ‘Movers for Mutts,’ involves multiple businesses that have partnered to collect donations for PAWS. The collected items will be picked up and delivered by Two Men and a Truck, making it easier for donors.

For those interested in adopting a pet from PAWS, the process begins with an online application, followed by an appointment at the shelter or with dogs from foster homes. PAWS also maintains a Facebook page with pictures of animals available for adoption.
