GRISWOLD, Conn. (WWLP) – A head-on crash between two Tesla vehicles resulted in the death of a Massachusetts woman on her birthday.
Connecticut State Police states that on Sunday, troopers were sent to the area of Preston Road for a report of a head-on crash with serious injuries. When troopers arrived, they found a 2021 white Tesla Model Y, driven by 23-year-old Daniel Dantas of Ludlow, Massachusetts, had been struck head-on by a gray 2024 Tesla Model Y, driven by 42-year-old Birenkumar Patel of Jewett City, Connecticut.
The gray Tesla was driving southbound when it crossed into the northbound lane and collided with the white Tesla, which was headed northbound. Both Dantas and Patel had minor injuries.
The passenger of the white Tesla, Alexis Newcomb of Ashburnham, Massachusetts, was taken to William W. Backus Hospital, where she later died. It was her 21st birthday.
