YARTS cuts routes to Yosemite for fall and winter

MERCED, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – YARTS will be cutting routes and transitioning to shorter hours starting this October.

Service from Merced to Mariposa to Yosemite and back will continue through winter with four east-bound runs available out of Merced and Mariposa daily, along with three options for west-bound trips. This winter schedule begins Oct. 1 and will run through May 2026; routes and fare information can be found here.

Service from Sonora to Yosemite and from Mammoth Lakes to Yosemite ends for the season starting Oct. 1. Routes from Fresno to Oakhurst to Yosemite stopped running for the season Sept. 15.

Passengers riding into Yosemite on YARTS do not need a day-use pass for the park, and college and university students are still able to receive free round-trip passes on YARTS through the end of the year.

Children under five ride for free, and each child between the ages of 6 and 12 rides for free if accompanied by a full-fare paying adult. Discounted rates are available for riders aged 13 through 17, veterans, seniors, and ADA passengers.
