Police ticketing quotas ending in Ohio

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The ticket quota system for law enforcement in Ohio is ending.

Gov. Mike DeWine signed Senate Bill 118 into law on July 1. The bill’s approval by the governor makes a ticket quota system unlawful in the Buckeye State.

Although DeWine signed the bill over two months ago, it won’t go into effect until 90 days after signing.

Officers who find law enforcement agencies not complying with the new law can provide tips to an anonymous reporting system.
