Why Irving, Texas is failing at sleep — and what it means for residents

IRVING (KDAF) — A new study has revealed the best and worst cities in America for getting a good night’s sleep—and a spot in the Lone Star State landed near the bottom.

The research, conducted by Mood, a federally legal cannabis retailer, analyzed sleep environments in 97 of the most populated U.S. cities. The study created a “sleep index” based on three key factors: noise pollution, light pollution, and anxiety levels.

Irving, Texas, scored 26.4 out of 100 for a good sleep environment, the fourth worst overall. Irving residents face the second worst noise pollution levels on average in the study (52.6 dBA LAeq).

The study also highlighted the top 10 cities for sleep, offering a glimpse into where Americans are most likely to enjoy restful nights.
