By rssfeeds-admin The grants are the final round of funding available this year under the Alabama Department of Transportation’s (ALDOT) Annual Grant Program created by the Rebuild Alabama Act.
A total of $1M in state funding will be headed to the following counties for the infrastructure/road projects:
Cullman County – Cullman
- Full depth reclamation of Graham Street SW from Main Avenue SW to SR-69 (0.70 miles)
- State providing $350,000 in funding
- $173,606.75 in local funding will also be provided for the project
Jackson County – Bridgeport
- Resurfacing 11 City streets (4 miles)
- State providing $350,000 in funding
- $100,000 in local funding will also be provided for the project
Morgan County – Eva
- Resurfacing and pavement repairs on Sanders Road from Jesse Green Road to the Cullman Line (0.50 miles)
- State providing $350,000 in funding
- $50,000 in local funding will also be provided for the project
“Supporting all Alabama citizens for generations to come has always my mission. From our students’ education to the state’s infrastructure, Alabama continues to make strides for future generations of Alabamians,” said Governor Ivey. “Through the Rebuild Alabama Act, we are delivering on that promise to make meaningful investments in local roads and bridges across the state. I am proud to say that Alabama is keeping our commitment to safer, stronger and more connected communities.”
The Rebuild Alabama Act which passed by the legislature and signed by Governor Ivey in 2019, requires ALDOT to establish an annual program setting aside a minimum of $10 million off the top of the state’s share of gas tax revenue for local projects.
