Police said officers responded on Sept. 11, around 12:15 a.m., to reports of an intoxicated person in the 14800 block of Ashdale Avenue.
There, officers located the teen, who appeared to be under the influence, and he tried to run away before police could detain him.
During the incident, the teen allegedly kicked the officer while being taken into custody; however, police said no one was hurt during the altercation.
Police said the teen, whose identity has not been disclosed, was released to his parents. He was officially charged on Sept. 22.
According to police, the teen is facing charges of assault and battery on a law enforcement official, public intoxication, possession of marijuana, and curfew violation.
