According to the Probable Cause Statement, on September 14, 2025, Logan City Police Department (LCPD) responded to a domestic dispute. When officers arrived at the scene, they reportedly found that Mahari was chasing the alleged victim and the victim’s minor child across the lawn.
Officers took Mahari into custody. They learned that he allegedly arrived at the incident and demanded that the resident let him in. The victim refused to let him in, but Mahari went to the back door, which was reportedly locked with a deadbolt, and was allegedly able to break the door in.
The victim began to call 911, but Mahari took her phone and grabbed her by the neck, which restricted her ability to breathe.
The minor daughter of the victim came to her aid, but Mahari allegedly pushed the daughter into a closet, where she hit her head against the wall. Reportedly, he then pushed the victim onto a couch and began to choke her in view of the daughter.
The victim was able to get away and left the house around the time officers arrived at the scene.
Mahari was booked into jail that night and was formally charged on September 15. He is currently being held at the Cache County Jail, without bail, and is scheduled to appear in court on October 22, 2025.
While Mahari has not yet entered a plea, the court has recommended a total fine amount of $39,493, if he is found guilty. He also faces time in prison.
Law enforcement has not disclosed whether or not Mahari knew the alleged victims.
