PA entertainers you may not know are on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

(WJET/WFXP) – As you walk along Hollywood Boulevard, you will find multiple of the iconic terrazzo and brass stars belonging to celebrities from Pennsylvania.

Stars featured on the Hollywood Walk of Fame fall into one of the following categories of entertainers: motion pictures, television, recording, radio, and live performance.

Household names in motion pictures such as Gene Kelly, Kevin Bacon, Michael Keaton, and Jeff Goldblum find themselves recognized on Hollywood Boulevard, receiving their stars in 1996, 2003, 2016, and 2018 respectively.

Also in the motion picture category, you will find academy award winning actress Shirley Jones, from Charleroi, Pennsylvania. Alongside her is Edinboro graduate Sharon Stone, known for her roles in films Basic Instinct and Casino.

On air, the voice of Philadelphia native Patti Labelle is widely recognized. She received her star in 1992. Other featured recording artists from PA include P!NK, Billie Holiday and Bill Haley.

Breakfast in Hollywood host Tom Breneman’s star ceremony in the was held in 1960. Also, along Hollywood Boulevard, you will find Fred Waring, who was dubbed “The Man Who Taught America How to Sing.” Breneman, from Waynesboro, PA, and Waring, from Tyrone, PA, received their stars in radio.

Comedic personality Kevin Hart and actress Grace Kelly can also be found among the 2,821 stars in Los Angeles, California.

These stars serve as a reminder that behind the glamour of Hollywood, you may be able to catch glimpses of hometown pride.
