Delaware man arrested for fifth DUI

WILMINGTON, Del. (WPHL) — Delaware State Police arrested a man early Wednesday morning for his fifth DUI, officials announced.

According to police, around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24, a trooper saw a vehicle on North Dupont Highway/US-13, south of Seven Hickories Road, driving slowly. Police saw the car repeatedly swerve on the shoulder, prompting a traffic stop.

Police said the driver, 69-year-old Paul Fox, had an open bottle of liquor on the passenger seat and showed signs of being impaired.

After failing Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, Fox was taken into custody when it was later discovered he had four prior DUI-related convictions.

Fox was charged and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on an intoxication hold.
