The grants aim to alleviate the financial burden on teachers, who spend an average of $900 annually on classroom supplies. Each teacher also received a ‘Classroom Activity Kit’ with essential supplies for their students.
“I feel encouraged. Like, we have good days consistently, but sometimes it’s nice to have like a little cheer for us. That’s important for us,” said Michelle Tucker, a physical education teacher at Guilford High School.
