Guilford High School teachers awarded grants by Napleton Subaru

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Napleton Subaru awarded grants to six teachers at Guilford High School today as part of the ‘Adopt a Classroom’ initiative.

The grants aim to alleviate the financial burden on teachers, who spend an average of $900 annually on classroom supplies. Each teacher also received a ‘Classroom Activity Kit’ with essential supplies for their students.

“I feel encouraged. Like, we have good days consistently, but sometimes it’s nice to have like a little cheer for us. That’s important for us,” said Michelle Tucker, a physical education teacher at Guilford High School.

The ‘Adopt a Classroom’ initiative is a nationwide effort to support teachers by providing them with financial resources to enhance their classrooms. The grants allow teachers the discretion to spend the money in ways they believe will most benefit their students.
