Caleigh Ann Mortensen pled guilty to the charges against her, including possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and items of paraphernalia used to ingest the drugs.
She was put on probation for three-years. She was sentenced under the provisions of Act 346, the first offender’s law. If she remains out of trouble during her probation period, she can apply to the court to have her record sealed.
When Norfork Police Department officers spotted Mortensen’s Ford Mustang, they ran a check on the vehicle and discovered it was not insured.
The vehicle was pulled over and officers contacted Mortensen. She was described as appearing “unusually nervous, with her hands visibly shaking.” One officer reported having prior contacts with Mortensen and that “this level of nervousness was uncharacteristic for her.”
A search located about 3.0 grams of suspected methamphetamine in Mortensen’s purse. A green marijuana “vape” and a glass smoking pipe commonly used for ingesting
methamphetamine were found under the center console.
In addition to the drug-related charges, Mortensen was charged with 2nd degree endangering the welfare of a minor. Her infant daughter was reported to have been secured in the rear portion of the vehicle at the time of the stop.
