Crews working on infrastructure improvements in the area struck a 4-inch water main along Princeton Road. The line provides water to homes between Drake Drive and Winfield Road.
Water service was interrupted to repair the line.
The advisory is a precautionary measure, and customers are advised to disinfect any water that will be consumed. Consumption includes any water that will be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, food preparation, or rinsing food.
To disinfect water and ensure the destruction of all harmful bacteria and microbes, bring water to a rolling boil and maintain for at least one minute in a clean container.
Water samples are being collected and submitted to the Louisiana Department of Health‘s Office of Public Health in Shreveport. Customers will be notified when the advisory is rescinded.
