Water Boil Advisory issued before Labor Day weekend, will remain over holiday
Residents living in the Sterling Ranch subdivision are being advised to boil water starting immediately and continue through the holiday weekend.
The Bossier Parish Consolidated Waterworks/Sewerage District No. 1 (CWSD #1) has issued a boil water advisory for residents in Haughton who receive water from the Village Water System.
The advisory affects homes from 1 Sterling Ranch Road to 86 Meadow Cove, as well as all of Eliga Street.
Late in the evening of August 28, 2025, work crews were repairing a water valve that blew out in the Sterling Ranch Subdivision.
To complete the emergency repair, crews temporarily shut off the water service.
As a precaution, officials issued a boil water advisory.
Residents are instructed to boil tap water to a full rolling boil for at least one minute and remember to boil water even if it has been filtered.

Water samples were collected and sent to the Louisiana Department of Health’s Office of Public Health in Shreveport for testing. The advisory will remain in effect until test results confirm the water is safe to drink.
