Belvidere fire: $100,000 in damages, cause under investigation

BELVIDERE, Ill. (WTVO) — The cause of a fire that caused $100,000 in damages to a two-story Belvidere home on Tuesday remains undetermined, authorities say.

The Belvidere Fire Department was dispatched to the 2500 block of E. 6th Street at 4 p.m.

Authorities said all occupants of the home were outside when they arrived.

The fire was so fierce that first responders had to bring in mutual aid from surrounding agencies, such as North Boone, Boone, Cherry Valley, and Marengo fire departments.
