The Belvidere Fire Department was dispatched to the 2500 block of E. 6th Street at 4 p.m.
Authorities said all occupants of the home were outside when they arrived.
The fire was so fierce that first responders had to bring in mutual aid from surrounding agencies, such as North Boone, Boone, Cherry Valley, and Marengo fire departments.
Ultimately, firefighters were able to bring the fire under control within 30 minutes.
