Hobnob Corner Restaurant announced on social media Tuesday that it will be closing its doors after nearly 50 years of operating in downtown Nashville. Restaurant officials said their lease has not been renewed and that they will be officially closed down by the second week of November.
“We are deeply grateful to our loyal customers and dedicated staff who made this possible and unforgettable,” the restaurant’s team wrote. “Thank you for your support, memories, and for being part of our family over the years.”
Owned by the Cole family, Hobnob has been in operation for 46 years. Known for American cuisine such as pot roast, the restaurant has inhabited a 1873 landmark building on Main Street since 1979.
In the comments of their announcement post, Hobnob customers voiced their disappointment with the closure.
“This is the worst news ever,” one commenter wrote.
“This is sad news for our Nashville community!!” said another.
In its post, the Cole family encouraged customers to “come by soon” and share favorite restaurant memories to say farewell to Hobnob.
“We will cherish these years forever,” their statement ended by saying.
