Pica’s Restaurant of Upper Darby is closing after “70 wonderful years of serving the Upper Darby community”.
In a message to ‘Friends of Pica’s Restaurant, Upper Darby’, the restaurant announced that it would be closing in the Summer of 2025.
“From our humble beginnings in West Philadelphia founded by Frank Pica, Sr., to our cherished location here in Upper Darby, which was led by Frank Pica, Jr. for many decades and now, we, the third generation, have been honored to be a part of your lives and celebrations. Pica’s Restaurant, Upper Darby, has been a gathering place, where families have come together, friendships have blossomed, and countless memories have been made. You have been more than just customers to us; you are family.” Pica’s said in a letter.
“As we prepare to close our doors, we want to express our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support and loyalty throughout the years.”
As of now, there is no set closing date. Pica’s sister restaurant in West Chester will remain open.
Although the Upper Darby location is closing, Pica’s says they plan to open a “new and smaller location in the Delaware County area”.
“Thank you for the many beautiful years in Upper Darby. We will cherish them always,” said Picas.
