New Orleans mayor requests permission to go to Iceland despite travel restrictions
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell is requesting permission to travel to Iceland after surrendering her passport to court officials.
Cantrell is asking for permission to travel to Iceland for vacation with her family in October, according to court documents. She surrendered her passport after pleading not guilty to charges in her federal indictment, including conspiracy, wire fraud and obstruction of justice, on Sept. 10.
Her travel was restricted to within the Federal Eastern District of Louisiana.
