Hammond’s St. Vincent de Paul thrift store set to reopen

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — St. Vincent de Paul is reopening the thrift store in Hammond.

According to SVDP officials, there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the newly renovated store at 824 N. Morrison Blvd. in Hammond on Saturday, Sept. 27.

“Our thrift stores are more than just shopping destinations—they are missions in action,” said Sunnie Johnson-Lain, President and CEO of St. Vincent de Paul of Baton Rouge. “Every purchase helps us feed the hungry, clothe those in crisis, house the homeless, and heal those who are suffering.”

For over 20 years, the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store has been a cornerstone in Hammond, providing affordable goods, unique finds, and support for those in need.

All St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Stores serve to support SVDP ministries, give necessities to those in need, and offer job opportunities.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul started in Baton Rouge over 160 years ago.
