2 cats killed, 4 rescued in west Charlotte house fire; cause under investigation
CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Two cats are dead and several others have been rescued following a large house fire early Tuesday morning in west Charlotte, according to Charlotte Fire.

Firefighters responded to the scene just after 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, and got the fire under control within 20 minutes. Thirty firefighters worked to knock down the flames, which caused extensive damage inside the home and to the roof.

The outside of the house also suffered damage. Thankfully, no people were injured, and no firefighters were hurt. Medic was called off, and fire crews cleared the scene around 9 a.m.

Amid the response, firefighters rescued four cats from the home. Sadly, two other cats did not survive.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Charlotte Fire Investigation Task Force.

Officials have not released any further details at this time.
