The Davie County Sheriff’s Office announced that Michael Tedder, 18, of Advance, North Carolina, was arrested on Friday, Sept. 12, after deputies received a request for assistance from the University of Louisville Police Department.
According to North Carolina officials, the university had reportedly received “threats of mass violence” that investigators tracked back to Davie County.
Deputies determined that the threats originated from Tedder’s address and alleged that he was the one responsible.
Tedder was arrested and charged with communicating a threat of mass violence on educational property. He’s been lodged in the Davie County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
