1 dead, 2 in critical condition after crash in Travis County

AUSTIN (KXAN) — One person is dead and two others suffer critical, life-threatening injuries after a two-vehicle crash in Lago Vista on Saturday afternoon, Austin-Travis County EMS said in a post on X.

Just after 1 p.m., first responders responded to the crash that involved 3 adults in the 23000 block of FM 1431 Road near Tessera Parkway, Travis County ESD #1 said in a social media post.

In an update around 2:49 p.m., ATCEMS said one person was pronounced dead on scene. Two patients were taken to St. David’s Round Rock, both with critical, life-threatening injuries, ATCEMS said.

Due to the severity of the accident, FM 1431 will remain closed west of Tessera Parkway for several hours, Travis County ESD #1 said.

Drivers should expect delays in the area and take alternate routes.
