Fight Background
Alvarez, 35, is the current undisputed super middleweight champion. He is coming off a unanimous decision victory over William Scull in May, a performance that was unimpressive in the eyes of many boxing pundits. The Mexican boxer has not scored a stoppage win since 2021 against Caleb Plant.
Crawford, 37, is daring to be great by moving up two weight classes after he last fought in August 2024 — winning the WBA junior middleweight title (154 pounds) in his first fight in the weight class. The Omaha, Nebraska native has spent much of his career at welterweight (147 pounds).
Both fighters are four-division world champions and are locks to be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.
The matchup is considered by many to be the biggest fight in North American boxing in the last decade.
