Chicago media pioneer Bruce DuMont dies
CHICAGO — Bruce DuMont, who spent decades in Chicago media including WGN Radio and WTTW has died.

His career included covering the council wars during the Harold Washington Administration and producing WTTW’s “Chicago Tonight”.

He also launched Inside Politics in 1980 which would later become Beyond the Bletway with Bruce DuMont.

He won several Emmys before founding the Museum of Broadcast Communications in 1987.

He was 81 years old.

The family will announce plans for a memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Museum of Broadcast Communications or Columbia College in his honor.
