West Virginia Paranormal Trail is back in 2025 with new spooky stops
The trail, similar to the West Virginia Waterfall Trail, lets visitors check in at designated paranormal locations across the state. After someone checks in at a certain number of spooky spots, they get a prize.
This year, there are 21 stops on the Paranormal Trail, including four places that weren’t included in last year’s trail: The Apollo Civic Theater in Martinsburg, Carnegie Hall in Lewisburg, the Greenbrier Valley Theater in Lewisburg, and Seneca Caverns in Riverton.
Other must-see places on the trail include the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in Weston, the Moundsville Penitentiary in Moundsville, and the Mothman Museum and statue in Point Pleasant.
“When planning your leaf-peeping trips to the Mountain State, be sure to add some of these spooky adventures to your list,” West Virginia Department of Tourism Secretary Chelsea Ruby said in a press release. “From stunning color to one-of-a-kind experiences, I have a feeling this autumn will be one of the best we’ve ever had.”
