The mission, which took place Sept. 6-7, focused on “curbing dangerous and illegal driving behavior on city streets,” according to police.
“Officers demonstrated exceptional agility, responding in real-time to shifting activity and preventing street racers from establishing any sustained presence at numerous key intersections,” police said.
During the Sept. 7 mission, police say they were able to locate a suspect vehicle connected to several armed robberies, which led to the arrest of 49-year-old Justin P. Christiansen.
“The missions were part of PPB’s ongoing commitment to improving public safety by addressing illegal street racing and reckless driving. These behaviors endanger not only participants but all road users — often disrupting neighborhoods and reducing the overall sense of safety in our community,” police said.
