Person shot and killed by state trooper in Lafourche Parish
LAFOURCHE PARISH, La. (WGNO) — An individual was shot and killed by a State Trooper in Lafourche Parish Monday, Sept. 8.
According to the Louisiana State Police, a trooper attempted to stop a vehicle, but the driver did not comply, resulting in a vehicle pursuit. The vehicle turned onto Lake Long Drive in Houma and came to a stop at a dead end. A passenger exited the vehicle, and a trooper fired his weapon. The passenger was shot and declared dead on the scene.

The driver of the vehicle fled and the pursuit continued. The vehicle ended in a crash on Louisiana Highway 1 near Lefort Bypass Road, and the driver was taken into custody.
